Wav Player is a very small tool that you can use to listen to music files saved in Waveform audio file format.
This software doesn't require installation. Since it is portable, you can place Wav Player on a removable device and directly run the executable file on any other computer. Also, your Windows registry entries will remain intact.
The user interface of the program consists of a small and plain window in which you can search for files by using the treeview (the "drag and drop" method is not supported).
Thus, you can play, resume and stop a song, sort files by name or date, delete them from the hard drive, create and save a playlist, skip a track, adjust the volume, navigate back and forth within a WAV file, as well as choose the sound card.
In the "Options" menu, you can associate all WAV files with this program, mute audio on videos, enable to remember the window's position, size and default sound levels, as well as enable "Kiosk" mode. Furthermore, you can set your own file associations.
The audio player barely uses CPU and system memory. It didn't freeze, crash or pop up any errors during our tests.
However, the tool doesn't include a help file and discovering all its functions can be confusing at first (for example, you have to enable "Set position" to be able to navigate within an audio track).
The bottom line is that, although Wav Player lacks any kind of advanced settings, it is a simple and effective tool. We recommend it to all users.
